Dog Grooming

I am City and Guilds qualiied, and I have trained in all aspects of grooming, including hand stripping.

I work one to one - your dog will be the only one in the salon for his /her groom. I use only high quality, cruelty free vegan producs which are ethically sourced and packaged.

Every groom includes a free bow or bandana, and a spritz of pawfume to make your Super Dog look and smell fabulous.

Pamper Treatments

As well as grooming, I can also offer various spa treatments to enhance your dog's groom, and to aid health and well being.

Why not try a mineral mud bath,for dogs who struggle with dry or itchy skin

If you have a short haired breed, they would benefit greatly from a mud deshed treatment - the deshed mud helps the dog to lose dead hair from their coat, to improve coat condition and lessen the amount of hair loss in between grooms

My latest spa package is a paw treatment for dogs who struggle with itchy or dry pads - this treatment consists a foot fizzer bath, a paw scrub followed by rich moisturising paw balm

Puppy Introduction to Grooming

Grooming can be pretty overwhelming for dogs, and I offer these puppy introduction sessions to make it a bit easier for dogs to acclimatise to it. For many of the dogs who come to me, a regular groom every six to eight weeks is a part of their life, and I try to make it a stress-free, calm experience for them. I have had good outcomes from the puppies who have been with me right from the start - it absolutely makes my day when they run up the drive to greet me, with no anxiety about the groom which lies ahead. It is so worth taking baby (puppy?) steps with them, to take the worry out of the grooming process.

I offer puppies a free introductory meet and greet, where they can come to the salon with their Pawrents to meet me, have a little stand in the bath, a little stand on the table and to hear the sounds of the salon - dryer, clippers, etc. We have a lot of fun playing and have some treats (if they are allowed them) to make the association between the salon and fun. At that point we would book in a bath and fluff dry, and ultimately work up to full groom when puppy is ready.

In the photo is one of my little customers, who has been having her grooms with me since she was only six months old - she is a big girl now, and she comes into the salon without fear or trepidation. It makes me so proud that we have achieved this for her.

Emmi Pet Tooth Cleaning

This is a new service that I am offering - currently it is only available to existing customers, as I have found that better results are obtained with dogs who are familiar with me, and the salon.

In February I undertook Emmi Pet training, and I am currently working with a couple of my little furry customers to try and improve their dental health. This treatment does not guarantee that veterinary dental work will not be required, but aims to remove build up of tartar and plaque and reduce the risk of veterinary dental intervention becoming necessary.

Your dog will have his or her own tooth brush head,and this is included in the price of the introductory session. In the first session I will assess your dog's teeth and dental health, and recommend a course of treatment. Discounts are available when booking a block of ten sessions. DIY DOGGY WASH

As the owner of a big dog (Teddy is 37kg!) I know how very difficult it is to get a dog of that size bathed. I used to have to hose him down with the outside tap when we got back from walks - I hated having to do that to him!!

With that in mind, I now offer a self service dog wash - you can use my professional dog bath, I provide high quality shampoo, towels and blaster/dryer use, and I will be on hand to answer any of your grooming questions, or advise on how best to bath dry your dog.

As the salon is virtually opposite Hutton Fields, what better way to end your muddy dog walk, than with a lovely warm bath for your dog, and a clean, fragrant doggy when you get home.
